The Sindh police’s Special Security Unit (SSU) organised a training programme - Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) – at its headquarters on Saturday to educate Citi Bank employees about dealing with terrorist attacks.
An SSU spokesperson said the Citi Bank staff was informed about combating the nefarious activities of terrorists and non-state elements with confidence, mental resilience, self-defense techniques, weapon awareness, security awareness skills, threat management and survival techniques.
SSU Commandant Maqsood Ahmed speaking on the occasion said the unit’s officers and commandos were being given modern professional training and capable of foiling any terrorist attack.
He further said SSU commandos were firmly committed to protecting the lives and properties of citizens.
He added that the country’s first Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team equipped with latest weapons and communication system had been set up in the SSU that remained alert around the clock to tackle any emergency situation.
The HEAT programme was arranged on the request of Citi Bank’s senior management.
During the visit of various sections of SSU, the 55 Citi Bank participants appreciated the professional standards of management and administration maintained at the SSU headquarters. The visiting staff also witnessed the mock exercise conducted by SWAT team commandos.
