PESHAWAR: The Fata Student Organisation (women’s wing) has demanded the government to provide the displaced students with the facilities as announced.
Addressing a news conference here on Friday, office-bearers of women’s wing of the organization, Shema Nawaz, Shumaila Javed, Lubna and Gul Rauf said tribal students should be exempted from fee till 2020 and the hostels in the tribal areas, which have been rented out to non-governmental organisations should be brought into the use of tribal students.
They said the fee of tribal students could not be waved off so far and they were being expelled from classes.The administration of Islamia College Peshawar is pressing the 331 tribal students to deposit their fee despite the fact that the government had announced fee waiver for them, they added.
They demanded the government to establish more educational institutions in the tribal areas on war-footing.The students added that a university, medical college and information technology university should be set up in the tribal areas. They demanded Prime Minister, army chief and KP governor to take measures for solution to problems of the Fata students.
