Ayyan flies to Dubai after removal of her name from ECL
KARACHI: Supermodel Ayyan Ali left Pakistan for Dubai on Thursday after her name was removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Following directions from the Supreme Court (SC), the Ministry of Interior removed her name from the ECL. It has been decided to delete the name of Ms Ayyan Ali from the ECL, read a Ministry of Interior notification.
The supermodel took an Emirates flight from Quaid-e-Azam International Airport Karachi. Ayyan was arrested on March 14 2015 on the charges of money laundering.
A Customs court in November 2015 indicted Ayyan for attempting to smuggle out more than Rs500,000 to which she pleaded not guilty. She was granted bail in July 2015 after spending nearly four months in Adiala Jail and after her judicial remand was extended at least 16 times.
