PESHAWAR: The transporters on Thursday asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to cancel the licence of a bus terminal, which they said had been illegally issued by the Regional Transport Authority in one of the congested and busiest areas of the provincial capital.
Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Peshawar Transporters Union president Mohammad Masood Afridi said the old venue for the fruit market near the Grand Trunk Road had been declared private bus stand, which would create traffic problems in the city.
“On the one hand, the provincial government is claiming to shift the existing bus terminal out of the city while on the other a D-class licence has been issued to a new terminal at old fruit market,” he said.He warned that they would start protest movement if the licence of the fruit market terminal was not cancelled.
