Rashly-driven truck hits woman, minor son to death
LAHORE
A woman and her five-month-old baby boy were killed by a rashly-driven truck near Rohi Nullah on Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Naila, wife of Khalid, and her baby Haseeb Khalid. Khalid and his wife along their son were on their way on a bike when a speeding truck hit them, as a result, Naila Bibi and her son Haseeb died on the spot while Khalid suffered injuries. The injured man was rushed to hospital where his condition was stated to be precarious. Police have shifted the bodies to morgue and registered a case against the truck driver who was at large till the filing of this report.
found dead: A 40-year-old unidentified man was found dead at Baghbanpura on Tuesday. A passerby spotted the victim lying in an unconscious condition and informed police. Police shifted him to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The body has been removed to morgue. Police are searching for the family of the victim.
dies: A 50-year-old man who was found lying unconscious in the Data Darbar Police area on February 19 died in Mayo Hospital on Tuesday.
Police said victim Amanat Ali, son of Imam Din, was spotted by a passerby lying in an unconscious condition. He called Rescue 1122. Rescue teams admitted him to hospital where he died. Police have removed the body to morgue. Police are searching for the family of the victim.
killed on road: A woman was killed and another injured in a road accident in the Defence-A area on Tuesday.
Police said two women, Saira and Sadia, were trying to cross a road when a speeding vehicle hit and injured them. They were shifted to hospital where doctors pronounced Sadia dead while the condition of Saira was stated to be critical. The accused driver fled.
PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested a number of persons on different charges.
PHP teams registered 190 cases after arresting 210 traffic laws violators. Six cases were registered against bike riders on doing wheelie. PHP arrested 12 persons on using fake registration number plates plates. Police arrested two accused with illicit arms.
