CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Asfandyar Wali has said that organised war against the state has ended after Operation Zarb-e-Azb but war of individuals cannot be ended by a military operation.

Talking to media after a meeting of ANP think tank, he said that the National Action Plan (NAP) had not been acted upon as per expectations. He said they were ready to play a positive role in resolving tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He said some courtiers of the English Raj were giving out astonishing explanations of merger of Fata. He said the line drawn by the Raj could not be tolerated any more. He said some people calling themselves Pakhtuns were working against interests of Pakhtuns.

He said that he would lead a protest of Fata people in Islamabad on March 12 if a decision on Fata merger was not taken early. He demanded census in Fata, its merger with KP, its representation in provincial assembly and cabinet, and five percent of NFC award as its share.

He said that the terrorists were taking advantage of tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan, advising both the regional powers to settle their disputes through talks. He said the recent wave of terrorism in the country had nothing to do with the arrest of Hafiz Saeed, merger of Fata and census. He welcomed the decision of operation of Rangers in Punjab, dubbing it an internal matter of the province.

He said a decision on military courts would be taken in consultation with all the political parties.
