Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Nishat Mohammad Zia Qadri has taken serious notice of encroachment upon a school in his constituency, Shah Faisal Colony’s Green Town area, by certain unscrupulous elements.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Qadri said encroachment of public property by land grabbers under the garb of religious groups was a serious menace and put the lives of citizens at risk.
He reiterated that his party was against double standards in the education sector. He said the MQM had been a strong proponent of uniformity in education imparted to children and the sanctity of each and every school would be protected.
In his statement, Qadri said he had also approached the authorities concerned to look into the issue and ensure that Asif School in Green Town was cleared of its occupiers.
He said the police and law-enforcers were equally to blame for failing to protect government property and security of students.
