‘Corrupt should be held accountable’
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said past rulers set new records of corruption while “Niazi Sahib” is surrounded by the people who illegally grabbed lands worth billions of rupees in Lahore and got loans written off.
Addressing a ceremony he said the nation should hold such elements accountable for looting national wealth. He said no precedence can be found in country’s 70-year history of transparency and speed of development projects which are being completed under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said Nawaz was elected chief minister twice while he has been elected prime minister for third time with the vote power of people.
Shahbaz asked those leveling allegations on Nawaz that if they present evidence of corruption against Nawaz then he will be responsible for it. He said prime minister transparently utilized national resources for the nation and all allegations against him are baseless.
The chief minister said Orange Line Metro train project will provide modern transportation facility to common man, but PTI is making this sweet project sour. He said PTI criticized Orange Line Project, but with the completion of this project, five lakh citizens will be able to commute daily by it. Shahbaz said he will not level baseless allegation like “Niazi Sahib” but he wants to explain that Lahore High Court heard this case for many months and no word about corruption has been exposed.
