‘Ways of Nature’, a club, is imparting yoga education and practices everyday at Ayub National Park, Rawalpindi, with classes being held from 7:15 to 8:30 in the morning. Dozens of people attend these classes to feel relaxed and get rid of body pains.
‘Ways of Nature’ President Muhammad Mustafa, while talking to this scribe, said that they have started regular yoga classes at Ayub National Park from March 2014. “Previously, we had been conducting yoga classes at the Race Course, Rawalpindi. We have separate arrangements and instructors for men and women and both can have training at the same time,” he added.
He said that yoga is the best remedy for many diseases. A number of people with different kinds of diseases come here and after attending the classes lead a healthy life. “Diseases like asthma, arthritis and anxiety are curable through yoga,” he said. “Our slogan is ‘Delivering Health to the Nation’,” Mustafa said.
From Monday to Thursday, Nadeem guides and instructs people, while for three days Shamshad Haider, trained in Nepal, takes classes. To a question whether there has been any institution in Pakistan where one could get training for practicing yoga, Mustafa said that at the moment there is none but International Islamic University is discussing matters with them to start a diploma programme in yoga. Mustafa suggested that the government should start yoga in all public schools instead of other physical training programmes. “That would not only promote this indigenous science of body, but people will get healthy," he said.
Mohammad Khalid, who attend classes regularly, said that it is very good and effective experience and he feels lighter after doing yoga.
