Sharmeen first-ever filmmaker to co-chair WEF
ISLAMABAD: Two-time Oscar award winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is about to become the first ever artiste to co-chair the World Economic Forum.
A Monday statement from Sharmeen’s office said she will also speak at the 47th World Economic Forum’s annual three-day meeting starting on Jan 17 in Davos, Switzerland. It said she regards it as a great honour to represent both the artistic community and her country.

Punjab police informed the Committee that one of the assailants of Rashed Rehman had been killed in police encounter some time back while the other two had escaped from the country and that efforts were afoot to apprehend the absconding accused in the case.
The Committee was also informed that a comprehensive security plan had been devised for the security of the family of late Rashed Rehman, complainant and witnesses of the case.
The Committee also discussed the issue of 28 persons missing from the internment centre in Malakand and decided to invite the KP home secretary and the province IG Prisons to the next meeting.
