Concern over violation of rights in India
LAHORE
Speakers, including Sikh and Muslim leaders, social activists and intellectuals, highlighted the violation of human rights by India on large scale.
They expressed the views in a seminar arranged by World Muslim Sikh Federation & Dal Khalsa in collaboration with Human Rights Organization in Pakistan held at local hotel on Saturday.
Sardar Manmohan Singh Khalsa, Chairman World Muslim Sikh Federation, said, “The world is silent on the violation of human rights in India. Around 25,000 Sikh youngsters have been killed by the Indian state. Temples are not safe in India which is clear violation of human rights and hypocrisy of the civilised world. Independence of Kashmir and Khalistan is the need of the hour”. Dr. Amjid Hussain Chisthi said “Why Europe and other countries are silent over killings of Sikhs in India”. Syed Ahsan Zafar said, “ Democracy and human rights go hand by hand. There is no concept of democracy if rights are not protected by state. Siddiqul Farooq, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), said “Pakistan will continue supporting Sikhs and other minorities on a humanitarian basis. Pakistan loves humanity and democratic Pakistan will resolve the issue of Kashmir”.
Khalid Ranjha, Ahsan and Jalil Ahmad also spoke.
