Sindh governor discharged from hospital

Sindh Governor Justice (Retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui, who had been under treatment for a month at a private hospital due to severe chest infection, was discharged from the health facility on Thursday.

According to a Governor House spokesman, the 79-year-old ailing governor kept on signing important documents, summaries, and notifications throughout his time under treatment. He was also issuing necessary directives to his subordinates during the time in hospital.

For some days during treatment, the Sindh governor was also kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

After his discharge, the aged governor met staffers of the Governor House who greeted him on recovery of his health.

The governor thanked the people who had visited him in the hospital or sent messages to inquire about his health. He expressed resolve to work for welfare and uplift of the people of Sindh in his official capacity.

The Sindh governor was admitted to the South City Hospital in Clifton area on the night of November 13, 2016 when he had developed severe chest infection. The governor had taken oath of his office on 11 November, 2016.

Among other notables, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the hospital to inquire about his health.
