Pakistan claim silver medal in Asian men’s Netball
KARACHI: Pakistan on Sunday lifted silver medal when they were beaten by hosts Malaysia in the final of the first edition of the Asian Men’s Netball Championship in Kuala Lumpur.
As per details provided by Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), Pakistan were leading 11-6 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Malaysia fought back strongly to level the score 16-16.
Malaysia, in the third quarter, tightened their grip as they led 26-24. Pakistan overcame the two-point deficit in the fourth quarter as the game ended 31-31 in the scheduled time.
In extra time, Malaysia played sensibly and emerged victorious by a slender lead of one point. The final score was 35-34.
India clinched bronze medal when they crushed Brunei 61-23 in the third-place game. Hong Kong ended fifth and Singapore remained at rock bottom.
