RCB opens flower exhibition

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board organised a four day Flower Exhibition at Race Course Ground in which more than 130 varieties of Chrysanthemum were displayed and it was participated by number of government organizations besides private bodies.
The occasion was graced by Station Commander, Brigadier Syed Hassan Raza as chief guest who also inaugurated the flower sho. The ceremony was well attended by RCB Chief Executive Officer Dr. Saima Shah, MNA Malik Abrar, MPA Malik Iftikhar, RCB Secretary Qaisar Mahmood, Additional CEOs, Head of Garden Branch, Atiqa besides concerned officials and people of different walks which also included ladies and children.
The departments like Military Hospital, CMH, CCB, RCB, AFIP, Jinnah Park, Ibrar Surgery, PHA and Arid University displayed their stalls containing different varieties of flowers of Chrysanthemum in the exhibition. The Station Commander, Brigadier Hassan Raza who is also president of RCB and CCB visited different stalls and appreciated the participating departments for displaying beautiful flowers.
The award for best display of Chrysanthemum flowers stalls was grabbed by CMH followed by RCB second and CCB attained third position. Due to horrific tragedy of PIA plane crash which claimed over 48 lives in Havelian, the ceremony was conducted in simple manner. Special ‘dua’ and prayers were offered for the victims of plane tragedy and one minute silence was observed in their respect.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Hassan Raza appreciated the performance of the participants and termed it good and wonderful. He exhorted the need of making efforts to convince more organizations and departments to take part in next flower exhibition.
