In a country where we see a surge in human rights violation, a rise in gender based violence and a dramatic increase in racial discrimination, the decision of the Punjab government to make Human Rights a subject in the curriculum of colleges and universities of the province, is welcoming.
This step will help educate the future generations of Pakistan about the importance of human rights. It is hoped that the government will remain sincere in its efforts to promote human rights and cease its violation on a priority basis. Words alone will achieve nothing unless they are followed by actions.
