Punjab Advocate General Shakilur Rehman on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that 90 per cent of the children abducted from different parts of the province had been recovered.
Submitting a report on progress in investigation of child abduction cases, he told a two-judge bench that element of vital body organs’ sale behind the incidents of child abduction was not true. During the hearing, Senior Civil Judge, Mirpur, Yousaf Haroon complained that his son was missing for many months. On court’s query, a police officer of Rawalpindi said practical steps were being taken for the recovery of the judge’s son.
He said the child would be recovered soon. The bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar made the AGP’s report part of the case and adjourned further hearing till next month. The court had taken suo motu notice against the increasing incidents of child abduction in the province.
