Living in the dark
The country is dealing with the problem of loadshedding for a long time now. Major and heavily dense cities like Faisalabad, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad are facing loadshedding on a large-scale. Loadshedding has affected the industrial sector of the country the most. A lot of industries have been shut due to lack of power supply. Amidst all the difficulties, the Pakistani government is not doing anything to use the natural resources of the country that can solve the electricity crisis of the country. It is estimated that the country has 7508 million tonnes of coal present in lower Sindh and in the Salt Range.
Instead of using the natural supply of coal, the country is importing coal from other countries. This increases the burden on the already indebted economy and decreases the balance of payment of the country. The coal available in the country can generate electricity in a copious amount. This can bring the country out of the prevailing energy crisis.
