Man killed in crossfire at wedding function

LAHORE

A 26-year-old man was killed in crossfire between two groups in the Barki area on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Assad Raza. Two groups, following exchange of harsh words with each other in a wedding function at a farm house on Barki Road, opened firing on each other. As a result of which, Assad Raza sustained fatal wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have shifted the body to morgue.

Three robbers held: Cantt CIA claimed to have arrested three robbers and seized illegal weapons. The arrested robbers included Ali Abbas and Abid Ali.

Woman found hanged: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a rope in the Naulakha area on Sunday.

The woman was identified as Aysha. Her family found her hanging from a rope and informed police. She was married almost seven years back and was childless, police said, adding that the family was not providing the cause to them which forced her to end her life. Police have shifted the body to morgue.

PHP arrest 18 POs: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) claimed to have arrested 64 criminals, including 18 proclaimed offenders (POs). Six court absconders were also among the arrested persons. PHP also seized 536 litres liquor. Meanwhile, PHP rendered help to 1,974 travelers.
