CAIRNS, Australia: The Pakistan cricket team spent their downtime enjoying one of the Cairns region’s most visited hot spots.

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur said the team was very excited to experience what the Great Barrier Reef was all about.

They will head out to Moore Reef via Fitzroy Island with Sunlover Reef Cruises.

“We’ve got two days downtime, the guys have worked exceptionally hard,” Arthur said.

Arthur added that none of the team had been to the Great Barrier Reef before.

“This is a team activity. The boys can’t wait to see what it’s all about,” Arthur said.

“Cairns is fantastic. We’re being very well looked after. It’s been really good for us.”

Pakistan will tour Australia to play five One-day Internationals (ODI) and three Tests from December 15 to January 26, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday.

The team has been finalised by chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and the National Selection Committee after consultations with the team’s Head Coach and the Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq, the PCB said in a statement.

The first Test will be played from December 15-19 in Brisbane, the second will be played from December 26-30 in Melbourne, and the third and last Test will be played from January 3-7, 2017, in Sydney.
