Man arrested with 3kg heroin

LAHORE

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested a man at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Friday and recovered 3 kg heroin from his possession.

The arrested passenger was identified as Hamayun Shehzad of Bahawalpur.

According to the ANF, the accused was proceeding to Colombo carrying 3 kg heroin concealed in his bag.

crackdown: Lahore police claimed to have arrested 64 criminals in a crackdown in all the six police divisions on Friday.

Police arrested 16 alleged drug pushers, seven illicit arms carriers and 14 persons on violation of Tenants Act.

The DIG directed all the divisional SPs to conduct search operations on regular basis.

rewarded: The capital city police officer on Friday awarded cash reward of Rs 50,000 and a commendation certificate, Class–I, to a citizen, Muddasar Cheema, in recognition of his good role and technical support to Lahore police.

The citizen was rewarded at CCPO office.

transferred: The IGP, Punjab, issued transfer and posting orders of nine DSPs on Friday.

Raza Abbas has been posted as DSP, D&I, Lahore; Shafqat Rasheed as DSP, D&I, Sheikhupura Region; Khalid Rasheed as DSP, D&I, Faisalabad Region; Khalid Mahmood as DSP, Anti-Dacoity Kotwali, Lahore; Tanveer Amjad as DSP, Organised Crime II, Sargodha; Zahid Majeed as SDPO, Harronabad district and Ziaullah Khan as DSP, D&I, DG Khan Range. The services of two DSP Naveed Murtaza and Muhammad Arshad have been placed at the disposal of Traffic Punjab.

Training: Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera on Friday awarded shields and commendation certificates to the faculty of an educational institute to acknowledge their services for training police station assistants selected for Front Desks Project on merit.

A ceremony was held at Central Police Office in this regard.
