Three armed forces to be further synergised, says Gen Raheel

Pays farewell visits to Naval, Air headquarters

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said on Saturday that cooperation among the three armed forces would be further synergised.

He expressed these views during his farewell visit to the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad. On arrival, he was received by Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah.

Talking to the naval chief, the chief of army staff appreciated the services of Pakistan Navy for maritime security.

He said the Navy had an important role in the defence of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Admiral Zakaullah said the Pakistan Army, under the leadership of General Raheel Sharif, had achieved tremendous successes in the Zarb-e-Azb Operation, which had a direct bearing on peace, stability and prosperity of the country. 

Meanwhile, General Raheel Sharif paid a farewell visit to the Air Headquarters.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman welcomed General Raheel on his arrival at the Air Headquarters. A smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented the Guard of Honour,

The air chief lauded General Raheel’s services in strengthening the defence of Pakistan and contributing towards an unprecedented tri-service synergy. 

He added that Pak Army and the PAF worked in close cooperation during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb to root out the menace of terrorism from the country. 

On the occasion, General Raheel appreciated the thorough professionalism and firm resolve of the PAF personnel in safeguarding the aerial frontiers of country.

He expressed his satisfaction over the seamless coordination between the sister services and wished similar cooperation between the two in future.
