Indecent conduct

The recent incident of a school boy, Muhammad Ahmed, getting beaten up at school is condemnable. The alleged tortured left the young boy completely bed-ridden. Ahmed has also become a mute after the alleged torture. It is heartrending that an education institution has displayed an indecent code of conduct. It is the responsibility of the government to investigate the matter and give exemplary punishment to the institution.
Corporal punishment is a widely practised traditional form of punishment which should be abandoned. The use of physical force has negative effects on the growth of children. An education institution should ensure ‘safe environment’ for children.
