Passengers’ confidence in Pak Railways increasing, claims official
Rawalpindi: Division Commercial Officer Rawalpindi Naseer Ahmad Khan Niazi has said their divisional department is generating revenue up to Rs6 million per day that shows increasing confidence of passengers in the service of the Pakistan Railways. He said there are 17 locomotive engines, and 10 coaches are attached with one engine with modern facilities for passengers including clean drinking water, washrooms and comfortable seats and berths. Naseer Ahmad Khan Niazi said they had developed an effective monitoring system and four railway employees have recently been arrested for selling old tickets to passengers, adding “All of them have been suspended and are facing departmental inquiry.” He said the goods train from ARL to Mehmoodkot, Multan Division, is being run on a weekly basis and it earns Rs2.5 million on each journey. “A total of 1,000 employees are providing their best services to passengers including commercial staff members and station operating staff,” he said.
