Gen Raheel visits alma mater

LAHORE: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited his alma mater, the Government College University (GCU), Lahore, here on Friday.

During his visit, the COAS interacted with the students and faculty members and revived his old memories. He also visited various sections of the premier institute, especially those parts where he had spent his days as a student.

Paying rich tributes to both the faculty and the management of the university for their role towards grooming our youth, the COAS said the GCU had always played a pivotal role in producing a stream of scholars, scientists, artists and intellectuals of international acclaim, who have contributed immensely towards their respective domains.

The COAS emphasised on the youth to always focus on 3Cs (Character, Courage and Competence) and strive for honour and dignity through hard work and faith in Allah Almighty.

Expressing his optimism for a brighter future of the country, the COAS said Pakistanis were a great nation and added that our human resource was our real asset.

“The Operation Zarb-e-Azb has laid a strong foundation for peace and progress of the country and you can play an important role towards taking Pakistan to new heights,” he said while addressing the GCU students.
