KARACHI: Some 7000 students of 45 colleges of metropolitan could be affected if they fail to get their registration with the Sindh Education Department renewed in the upcoming examination of Board of Intermediate Education, The News has learnt.
Last Friday Education Board management sent a warning letter to 45 colleges including some highly reputed old institutions to immediately submit their renewed registration certificates failing which results of their students would be stopped and their affiliation with Educational Board could be suspended.
Prof Inam Ahmed, chairman of Board of Intermediate Education Karachi told The News that Board management had asked colleges to submit their registration certificates but 40-plus colleges did not submit despite the passage of one year.
Board always cooperated with all institutions and will cooperate with them in future but without fulfilling mandatory formality of registration, Board is unable to announce the results of said colleges, he said.
Ghulam Abbas, general secretary of Private Schools and Colleges Association Sindh, said almost all colleges had submitted their matters along with required documents some ten months back but the management of Sindh Education Department is not ready to precede with it and due to their negligence more than 7000 students and 45 colleges would suffer.
Secretary Education for Colleges Riaz Memon said he has taken the charge of his post some fifteen days back. This matter is old but hopefully within days would be solved, he concluded.
