Teachers, students protest
LAHORE
Some students and teachers of PakTurk Schools on Friday protested against the deportation orders for Turkish teachers and demanded the government withdraw the same.
The demonstration was held outside the Lahore Press Club in which children and mostly female teachers participated. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in support of Turkish teachers. Later, a press conference was also held and demand to stop deportation of the Turkish teachers associated with the school system was made.
PU body: The executive body of Punjab University’s Academic Staff Association (PUASA) has shown serious concern over, what it termed, misplacement of PU teacher Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Gondal. In a press release issued on Friday, the PUASA’s executive body said that all university teachers were patriotic Pakistanis.
