Asif, Babar, Bilal to get cash awards
KARACHI: The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) has announced cash awards of Rs100,000 each for Mohammad Asif and Babar Masih for their excellent performance in a recent snooker tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Mohammad Bilal will receive Rs50,000.
A spokesman of the PBSA informed ‘The News’ here on Wednesday that the cash awards of Rs250,000 for the cueists had been approved by the Executive Committee last week.
“They are being rewarded for their performance in the multi-sports events organised by the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS) in Fujairah, UAE,” the PBSA official stated.
“Playing for Pakistan, Asif and Babar came up with splendid performances in the Team Event as they defeated Team India 3-2 in the semi-finals and Team Iran 3-1 in the final,” he said.
“Bilal, who participated in the 6-Red Event, also performed well, reaching the semi-finals which earned him a bronze medal,” the PBSA official added. The PBSA will give the cash awards at a reception shortly.
