LAKKI MARWAT: District Nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel Saturday said that education was the key to progress and he would extend all possible help to teachers.
He was speaking at a function at Government Shaheed Muhammad Ghassan Khan Centennial Model High School in Lakki city.
He said that the district government had also put the education sector on top of priorities and that the problems faced by teachers and students would be resolved. He also said all public sector schools were being equipped with solar power system so that excessive power outages could not hinder teaching and learning activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Bakhtiar said the provincial government was committed to imparting quality education and the teachers must play their due role.
The district education department had arranged the event to honour schools’ heads and teachers for showing outstanding performance.
District Nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel was the chief guest. DEO Haziqur Rehman, Principal Muzamil Khan, and others were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, headmaster Haji Abdul Qayyum said that the heads of schools would get Rs100,000 each while seven teachers from nine high and higher secondary schools would get Rs50000 each on the basis of performance indicators.
