Addressing the ceremony, the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz, said that provision of different facilities at one place was a longstanding demand of the residents.
Keeping in view the demand of residents, present government directed CDA and MCI to construct citizen facilitation centres in different sectors of the city so that they could be served at their door steps.
In this connection, construction of this facilitation centre was started in November 2014 but when elected representatives taken over the responsibility of the affairs of CDA, work on the project was stalled. He said that after putting all out efforts not only work on the project was restarted but also completed within short period of two months.
He said that the citizen facilitation centre, unique in its nature, constructed over an area of 2500 square yards, will serve the residents in provision of services like Iesco, PTCL, Nadra, facilities provided at One Window Operations Directorate of CDA, licensing and other facilities under one roof.
He further said that this facilitation centre will not help save precious time of the residents but would also improve transparency and service delivery in the authority.
He said that survey is being carried out to construct more citizen facilitation centres on similar pattern. He said that reforms have been started implementing in CDA and in this connection, One Window Operations Directorate is being automated and procedures for allotment of plots to the affectees are also being made more transparent.
He further added that on receiving complaints regarding irregularities in allotment of plots to the affectees, entire staff of Land Directorate has been transferred. He said that all available resources would be utilized to make Islamabad more beautiful and model city.
