How to change

One of the biggest problems for the country is poverty. Seventy percent of the population of the country lives in villages. According to an analysis, 30 to 40 percent of the country’s population is living below the poverty line. In addition, the country is facing the problem of over-population. The increasing population has outstripped the resources of production and job opportunities. Rising poverty in the country necessitates that 10 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) be spent on the social sectors including education, health, safe drinking water, sanitation and basic infrastructure. At present, Pakistan spends only three percent of its GDP on health and education whereas India allocates nine percent for these sectors. Social problems are interlinked with economics problems. Economic prosperity serves as the backbone for the overall progress of a nation. Pakistan’s indulgence in a war on terrorism served as a fatal blow to the already crumbling economic state. This has destroyed the economy beyond imagination. Pakistan’s economy has suffered on two accounts: first, large amount of money is used on war on terror and second, the country has lost many foreign investor and markets.

Moreover, the tax system in Pakistan is also insufficient and unsatisfactory. Tax evasion is common, with the rich reluctant to pay taxes. There are so many problems in Pakistan. All of us should be patriotic, honest and hardworking. Everyone should respect the laws of country. Only then can we change Pakistan’s future.
