Sit-in politicians misleading masses: CM
Says conspiracies to hamper progress hatched within country
LAHORE
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the elements threatening to lockdown Islamabad want to hamper the process of national development and prosperity and it is regrettable that conspiracies in this regard are being hatched within the country.
He said there was no justification for closing Islamabad after the hearing of Panama case in the Supreme Court. He said those involved in politics of allegations, lies and falsehood were trying to mislead the masses and had resorted to undemocratic, unconstitutional and unethical tactics. He said the people fully knew that Niazi Sahib was not interested in progress and development of the country. He said the enlightened people of Pakistan were fed up with negative politics of the defeatist elements.
The chief minister said the conspiracy to destroy peace and destabilise the country would not succeed as the people were fully aware of negative designs of these elements. He said those creating hurdles in the process of investment and speedy development were enemies of the nation. He said the elements involved in sit-ins and promotion of anarchy could not tolerate strengthening of national economy and these so-called politicians by not accepting the decisions of the courts were insulting the mandate of the masses.
He said that lockdown of Islamabad tantamount to closing the doors of prosperity to the poor. Shahbaz Sharif said these elements rejected by the masses wanted to take revenge from the people for their defeat. He said that lockdown of cities resulted in loss of billions of rupees to economy and closing of Islamabad would be the economic murder of the people.
CPEC is a guarantee to progress and prosperity of Pakistan and harbinger of a prosperous future, the chief minister aid, adding that power projects being set up under CPEC would remove darkness from country, which the sit-in group could not tolerate. He said such elements were bent upon stopping this splendid project as the leader of sit-in group had set records of falsehood and baseless allegations. He said those engaged in sit-ins wanted to undermine economic process and deprive the poor of their livelihood but the politically conscious people of the country would stand as a rock against the negative designs of the enemies of progress of the country.
DRUG TESTING LAB: Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting which reviewed the pace of modernising the system of Drug Testing Lab. Senior scientist of LGC Laboratories of Britain Alan J. Handley gave a briefing in this regard. Senior scientist of LGC Laboratories of Britain while appreciating the Punjab Forensic Science Agency said that it had excellent facilities. He said that system of evidence collection in the Punjab Forensic Science Agency was exceptional.
He said he had visited a number of such laboratories in the world but the facilities available in the Punjab Forensic Science Agency were up to the standard of Europe and the credit for this went to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his team.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said the system of Drug Testing Lab was being set up on modern lines so that provision of quality medicines to the people could be ensured. He directed that services of Pakistani experts in this field living abroad should be acquired and skilled professionals should be appointed under the new system of Drug Testing Lab.

The chief minister said there were deep-rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Turkey and hearts of the people of the two countries beat together; a strong relationship of mutual respect between the people of Pakistan and Turkey and the friendship between the two countries is strengthening.
