Parents concerned about PTI agitation

Parents of the students have vowed that if the government issues orders to close down schools on the occasion of November 2 'dharna' then they would not accept it as no one has right to deprive their children of their education.

"The political parties and government have no right to deprive our children of their education for their political purposes. If the government thinks that the upcoming protest would create law and order situation then it should take measures to avoid it," said Naureen Riaz, a resident of Sector I-9.

She said their children faced uncertain situation for almost four months when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged protest sit-in at D-Chowk and now they want to again create such situation where school children leave their studies and sit at home.

Sohail Iqbal, a resident of Sector G-10, said there are reports that the policemen who would be brought to the capital city from other cities would stay in the school buildings, which means that the schools would be shut down for this purpose.

"Those who want to shut down the city must keep it in mind that shutting down the schools would mean failure of your country because education is the only means to embark on the path of progress and prosperity," he said.

Nida Fatima, a teacher at a private school, said she has two school going kids and never want to see them staying at home instead of going to school, adding "Now our politics should get matured because closure of schools for political protests never happen in the civilized world."
