16kg heroin seized in two raids

Punjab Anti Narcotics Force recovered six-kg heroin from Shahdra and 10-kg heroin from motorway, which was concealed in a vehicle. The drug peddlers were arrested and being interrogated by the ANF officials. 

hit to death: Father of five children was killed by a speeding bike in Shadbagh area on Monday. 

The victim identified as Aftab of Kachupura was on his way to Tajpura when a recklessly driven bike hit him. He received serious head injury. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.

body found: A decomposed body of a man was found in the limits of Kot Lakhpat police on Monday.

A passerby spotted the body and informed the police. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.

arrested: CIA Nawankot police arrested four robbers and recovered a bike and weapons from their possession.

The arrested robbers were identified as Khurram Iqbal, Hakim Ali, Shahbaz and Kashif. 

accidents: Total 716 road accidents were reported in the Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. 

In these accidents 11 lives were lost and 640 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts. Some 237 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams. 

Traffic education: CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said traffic police educated the citizens who violated minor traffic laws instead of issuing them challan tickets on the first day of education week on Monday. 

He said traffic police distributed at least 10,000 pamphlets inscribed with disadvantages of wheelie, over speeding, juvenile driving and overloading among the citizens on the first day. 

profiteers: Price control magistrates of the city district government arrested 81 profiteers on Monday and fined them for overcharging. 

The city district government officials said the magistrates raided 716 places, challaned 16 shopkeepers and arrested 81 profiteers. They imposed Rs 19,000 fine. The DCO said he had directed the magistrates to continue the drive against profiteers across the city.
