District Overseas Committee unhappy with Pirmahal AC
From Our Correspondent
TOBA TEK SINGH: A meeting of the District Overseas Committee was held here on Sunday.
The meeting, which was presided over by Additional District Collector (ADC) Ahmad Khawar Shahzad, discussed an application of Sobia Shahzadi in which she said that she resided in Canada and had purchased a house at Gojra from her sister Uzma Sarwar but her brother Dr Nasim Sarwar had illegally occupied it. The Gojra tehsildar submitted his report regarding the complaint, stating that the charge against Dr Nasim was correct as he was an illegal occupant of the house owned by the complainant. The tehsildar’s report added that accused Dr Nasim Sarwar had lodged an application under Section 12(2) of the CrPC just to linger on the matter in a civil court. The committee directed Gojra police to get the house vacated from the possession of the accused. It also directed the Gojra assistant commissioner to assist the police in this regard.
The meeting also discussed the complaint of another overseas Pakistani Fawad Ahmad, who, in his application, said that he had failed to know his share in the property of his father in Pirmahal. The meeting expressed concern that Pirmahal AC Hafiz Muhammad Najeeb in the previous meeting was directed to look into the matter and find out the complainant’s share but the AC did not take the matter seriously and he only forwarded the report of the field staff without appending the khasra gurdawari. The committee said that the AC also did not visit the property site.
The meeting strictly directed the AC to visit the site along with the patwari, qanoongo and tehsildar and all record be incorporated about his visit along with his visit’s pictures. The meeting also resolved or disposed of eight other complaints of overseas Pakistanis. The meeting was attended by DSP Khalid Bashir, Toba AC Muhammad Shafiq, Kamalia AC Khalid Mehmood and Pirmahal AC Hafiz Muhammad Najeeb.
