Pakistan to face England in Disabled T20 final

KARACHI: Pakistan set up a final date with England after beating both Bangladesh and England in their two successive outings of the ICC Academy Disabled T20 tournament in Dubai on Saturday.

Both Pakistan and England have won three matches each and will clash for the title on Monday (tomorrow).­

In the first game, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 27 runs thanks to Hasnain Alam’s excellent unbeaten 104, the first century of the three-nation event so far.

Alam struck four fours and seven sixes in his 67-ball firework to enable Pakistan post a fighting total of 161-5 in the allotted 20 overs.

Mozammel Haque captured 1-24.

Bangladesh were restricted to 134-8. Shamim hit 20-ball 25 with two fours and a six. Hossain made run-a-ball 20 with one six and a four. Left-arm medium-pacer Zubair Salim got 3-15. Nihar Alam captured 2-11.

In the other show, Pakistan overcame England by 30 runs. Danish Ahmed (51) and Rehan Ghani (37) guided Pakistan to 164-7. Callum Flynn (3-35) bowled impressively.

England, in reply, were skittled out for 137 in 19.1 overs. Gordan Laidlaw made 37-ball 48, hammering six fours. Off-spinner Jahanzeb Tiwana got 4-27.
