Political rhetoric

In a news article, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif was reported to have said, “Will quit politics if corruption proved against me, Nawaz”, (Oct 20). During the 2013 election campaign, he had unequivocally announced that if his political party – PML-N - -was voted into power he would put an end to the energy crisis within ‘three months’.
Over three years have been passed since the PML-N government came into power but the problem of loadshedding has not been solved. This shows that such statements are nothing but political rhetoric aimed at misleading the masses to gain political advantage.
