World wants to learn from Pakistan, says COAS

WANA: The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, on Thursday said that the world wanted to learn from the experience of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

He said the security forces had defeated terrorists on all fronts and it had proved to the world that Pakistan is against all forms of terrorism.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the new building of a Cadet College in Spinkai Raghzai in South Waziristan, he said that people and security forces had rendered tremendous sacrifices for restoration of peace in the region.

“We have not only defeated the terrorists but also proved that Pakistanis are victims of terrorism, not their supporters,” he added.The army chief lauded the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for launching development projects in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

He also directed launching work on the Phase-II of the Cadet College, Spinkai Raghzai.He appreciated the educational standard of the college, teaching faculty and administration of the college.Later, he met tribal elders and discussed the issues being faced by them. The tribal elders also asked the army chief to announce widening of roads in South Waziristan.The elders said that tribesmen would continue supporting the security forces of Pakistan.
