‘Public access to information vital’

NOWSHERA: Chief Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Commission Azmat Hanif Orakzai on Thursday said that public access to information ensures good governance.
Briefing councillors at the Tehsil Municipal Hall in Pabbi, he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had made legislation to ensure people’s right to information and services.He said good governance was the mission of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government, adding that practical steps were being taken to this effect.
The official said that Access to Services Law had restored the masses confidence in the government departments. He said representatives of the local government could serve the masses if they get complete knowledge of the law.
