RCB seals 3 outlets due to presence of dengue larvae

Rawalpindi: The special anti-dengue teams constituted by Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) have sealed three commercial outlets due to presence of the dengue larvae in their premises.

According to RCB spokesman Qaiser Mehmood, the anti-dengue teams visited various areas including Naseerabad, Peshawar Road, People's Colony, Tench Bhata, Bakery Chowk and Westridge and carried out spot-checking in residential and commercial units.

He said three commercial outlets that have been sealed by the special teams due to presence of the dengue larvae comprised.

The special teams that visited the areas consisted of entomologists; officials of the health department and city district government; and volunteers from the educational institutions. These teams have been constituted on the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister to sensitive the people about the precautionary measures against dengue virus.

He said 18 women teams also comprising lady health workers also took part in anti-dengue campaign and especially visited residential units to interact with the female inmates to make them aware about the precautionary measures to thwart the threat of the dengue fever.
