JI not to support any undemocratic move: Siraj
NOWSHERA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said his party was committed to making Pakistan a corruption-free democratic country.
“There is no place for military dictators in Pakistan. The adventurists could not overthrow democratic government,” the JI chief told a press conference here.The JI chief said that Pakistanis wanted change and they should have the right to elect own rulers through democratic system. He warned opportunists of the consequences of any misadventure.
He vowed to oppose martial law with the public support, adding that friends of the US attempting to enter the power corridor would face stiff resistance.He asked the government to stop the practice of blocking peaceful protests, saying that peaceful democratic protests were the right of every Pakistani.
Sirajul Haq said the JI would not allow implementation of international agenda in Pakistan, adding, the international forces could not promote own interest in Pakistan through stooges. He said that solution to all the problems of the nation was in implementation of the Islamic system in Pakistan. “The JI leaders and workers would block the way of US agents, dictators or other third force to come into power in Pakistan,” he vowed.
Sirajul Haq said thousands of people would attend the JI upcoming rally.He added that the Pakhtun women, especially tribal women, would attend the rally for the first time in the history of Pakistan.
He added that it would be for the first time that tribal women would raise voice for the Islamic rule in Pakistan. He said the JI workers had been busy disseminating information about the public rally for the last one month, adding that the message had been sent to 10 million people.
