Security plan finalised for Ashura in Kurram Agency

PARACHINAR: Plan to provide security to the imambargahs and mourning processions on the 9th and 10th of Muharram in Kurram Agency has been finalised on Sunday.

Talking to reporters, Colonel Yasir Bashir of Frontier Corps said that Pak-Afghan border had been sealed while cellular service would remain suspended till Muharram 10. Entrance of vehicles and motorbikes to Parachinar city had been banned, he added.

He said that closed-circuit television cameras had been installed on the checkposts in the surrounding of the city.  Security forces and Levies personnel have been deputed to sensitive places as well as government installations, he added.

The official maintained that the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar, Haideri Blood Bank and Chinar Blood Bank, Ansarul Hussain and Anwarya Federation had set up medical camps at various places in the city. He said that the Anjuman-e-Hussainia, Alamdar Federation, Pasdar Committee and volunteers of Civil Defence would carry out duties along the routes of the mourning processions.
