Two labourers die in roof collapse

LAHORE

Two labourers were killed when the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in the Sanda area on Friday.

Rescuers pulled the two labourers out of the debris and rushed them to hospital where they were pronounced dead. The deceased were identified as Ramazan and Danish. The bodies have been removed to mortuary.

Killed on road: A bike rider, yet to be identified, was killed by a speeding dumper truck on Shaukat Khanum Road in the Sattukatla area on Friday.

The bike rider was run over and killed by the rashly-driven dumper truck. Police have removed the body to morgue.

Passenger held: FIA immigration officials took into their custody a blacklisted passenger at Allama Iqbal Airport on Friday.

According to FIA officials, accused Naveed Iqbal of Sheikhupura was proceeding to Dubai. They said that his name was on the blacklist as he was a proclaimed offender in a case registered with FIA. He has been handed over to FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Cell.

mirrors: The city traffic education team installed side mirrors on 2,500 bikes at Liberty Chowk on Friday.

The traffic police team distributed pamphlets among the citizens and educated them on the traffic rules.

CTO: The chief traffic officer (CTO) visited the route of central procession of Zuljinah and diversion points on Friday.

He directed the circle officers to allow parking of cars and bikes at least 200 yards away from the route of the central procession and keep vigil on suspects.
