KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Manzoor Wassan on Thursday rejected the impression that agriculture income was not taxed in the province.
At an event organised by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the minister said that it was wrong perception that only businessmen are paying taxes.
The agriculture income is taxed and he himself paid Rs2.5 million during the last year on agriculture income, Wassan said.
He also said that it is also wrong that only Karachi contributes to the tax collection. Other areas of Sindh are also contributing the same, he said. The government had prioritised resolving problems of industries for better production, he said, adding that in the past, security was a major problem for Karachi. “Now it is resolved and the people having business in Dubai will come back to this city.”
