More rain forecast

LAHORE

Scattered rain along with partly cloudy weather brought down the high humidity in the city while Met office predicted more scattered rains on Thursday (today).

The Met officials said weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan while a shallow trough of westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country.

They said eastern currents are penetrating in south-eastern parts of the country. In city, mild rain was recorded in several localities especially North Lahore. The Met officials predicted rain with dust-thunderstorm at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Mirpurkhas divisions, Fata, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. They said hot and dry weather is expected in elsewhere in the country.

Rainfall was recorded in several cities, including Abbottabad (73mm), Balakot (21mm), Malam Jabba (15mm), Saidu Sharif (09mm), Bannu (07mm), Lower Dir (07mm), Kalam (02mm), Pattan (01mm), Murree (28mm), Islamabad (Saidpur 25mm, ZP 11mm, Bokra 03mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 22mm, Golra 10mm, Chaklala 07mm), Mangla (05mm), Jhelum (05mm), Muzaffarabad (20mm), Garhi Dupatta (07mm), Rawalakot (06mm), Kotli (01mm) and Bagrote (01mm). Wednesday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 43°C while in city it was 28°C and humidity was 70 percent.
