IGFC visits forward positions

PARACHINAR: Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Mazhar Shaheen visited the forward positions in Kurram Agency on Tuesday.

Commandant 73 Brigade Brigadier Malik Muhammad Amir, Commandant Kurram Militia Colonel Omar Malik and other officials of the security establishment and political administration accompanied the FC chief during the visit.The IGFC visited the forward positions of the forces on Pakistan-Afghanistan border and met with the jawans.

The IGFC also reviewed the security arrangements put in place for Muharram in the tribal region during a meeting in which Political Agent Ikramullah Khan was also present.He directed the political administration and officials of the security establishment to further beef up the security to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram. Later, he held a meeting with the tribal elders. Speaking on the occasion, the IGFC urged the tribespeople to play their role in defence of the country. He urged the people to cooperate with the law enforcers to maintain peace during Muharram majalis and processions. The tribal elders vowed to render every sacrifice for the country if need be.
