SHC moved for severance of trade, cultural ties with India
Members of a minority community, on Monday, filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) calling for severance of all trade and cultural ties with India in the wake of cross border strikes by Pakistan's eastern neighbour.
The petitioners - Hindu Helpline’s founder Atam Parkash and others - maintained that the recent incident of firing by the Indian forces across the line of control (LoC) proved that the Indian government, their politicians as well as the general public were not interested in building good, friendly relations with the country.
They requested the court to direct the government’s concerned ministries to take appropriate measures and impose ban on all kinds of imports and exports to and from India, whereas cultural relations including exhibition of Indian movies and telecasting other Indian media content in Pakistan be stopped.
