Countrywide protests against Indian aggression at LoC

LAHORE: Demonstrations were held across the country and rallies taken out on Sunday against the Indian forces’ aggression at the Line of Control (LoC) and Narendra Modi’s jingoism.

According to reports received here from various cities in all the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Fata, Azad Kashmir and other territories, people took to the streets in large numbers against the suppression of innocent people in held Kashmir and violation of the LoC by the Indian Army.

The Hindu community held demonstrations in various cities of interior Sindh against India and vowed to fight against the enemy alongside the Pakistan armed forces. In Hyderabad, a rally was jointly taken out by Muslim and Hindu communities to give the Indian premier the message that all Pakistanis were ready to protect their motherland. In Sukkur and Kotri, protesters raised slogans against India, Narendra Modi, beat his effigy with shoes and later set it on fire.

In other Sindh cities, including Jacobabad and Kandhkot, protests were also held against India.In Peshawar, Bannu and other cities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, protest rallies were held against the Indian aggression. The Hindu community members staged a demonstration on Sunday against India for escalating the tension along the eastern border.

The protesters gathered near the Peshawar Press Club under the banner of Hindu Rajput Welfare Community. The protest was meant for expressing solidarity with the government and the armed forces.

In Bannu, a group of youngsters, including schoolchildren, vowed to offer every sacrifice for the security of Pakistan. They set the effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on fire in front of the Bannu Press Club.

Protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against Modi and the Indian Army. They demanded India give Kashmiris their right to self-determination according to the UN resolutions.

In Parachinar, leaders of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) said they would fight side by side with the Pak Army if India attacked Pakistan.Addressing a press conference in connection with Muharram’s mourning processions here on Sunday, MWM’s provincial secretary general Muhammad Iqbal Bahishti urged the workers to ensure peaceful meetings and rallies across the Kurram Agency.

Among others Shabbir Sajidi, Allama Muzammil Hussain and Allama Najaf Ali were also present.In Bahawalpur, people from different walks of life, including students and civil society activists, staged demonstrations against the Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris in held Kashmir and in support of the Pakistan Army.

In Bahawalnagar, hundreds of students and civil society activists took out a rally against the Indian aggression from Jattowala up to the Minchinabad Chowk. In Chishtian, people, including students and journalists, took out a rally from the Central Park up to Baldia Chowk. In Bahawalpur, scores of people set up camps against India. Rallies were also taken out in Khanpur, Liaqatpur, Ahmadpur East and other small and big towns of the division.
