Tribal elders urged to maintain peace during Muharram

PARACHINAR: Officials of the political administration and security forces on Friday urged the tribal elders from Kurram Agency to play a role in ensuring peace during Muharram.

Addressing a jirga at the Governor’s House in Parachinar, Brigadier Malik Ameer Muhammad Khan and Political Agent Ikramullah Khan said that strict security measures had been taken for 9th and 10th of Muharramul Haram.

They lauded the efforts of the tribal elders in maintaining peace and assisting the security forces in their respective areas.Brigadier Ameer Muhammad said that the security forces would not let the miscreants succeed in their nefarious designs. Tribal elders also assured the officials of their firm support in establishing the writ of the government in the tribal region.
