Kidnappers held by CIA

Two suspects, including a proclaimed offender, who is said to be involved in a number of kidnapping for ransom cases, were arrested by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) during a raid in Raees Goth on Tuesday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jameel Ahmed of the CIA Karachi said the raid was conducted as part of the task given to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) to catch proclaimed offenders, absconders and criminals wanted by the police in kidnapping for ransom cases.

He said the raid was conducted in the wee hours of Tuesday in Raees Goth where Mumtaz Mugheri alias Imtaiz and his accomplice, Sadiq Brohi, were arrested after a gun battle.

The arrested accused were moved to the CIA headquarter for a probe, he said, adding that weapons were also found on the two men.
