NOWSHERA: Three labourers were killed and seven others injured when the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in Nowshera Kalan here on Sunday.
It was learnt that concrete was being laid to build the second storey of a house owned by one Riaz Ahmad in Dagikhel Mohalla on Tanki Road when the lift being used to carry the material fell on the wall of the structure, which collapsed.
As a result, several labourers were trapped under the debris of whom three were killed while seven sustained injuries. The rescuers, who arrived at the spot, pulled out the bodies and the injured from the rubble after hectic efforts.
Two of the critically injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar while the five wounded persons were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Nowshera wherefrom they were discharged after being treated.The dead labourers were identified as Mohammad Sadiq, Fayyaz Khan and Muslim Shah.
